A Conversation, Impact of AI, and a Book Recommendation

This week I will try something different. Here are a few things I came across recently:

Front Row Seat conversation

This conversation (John Maxwell, Patrick Lencioni, Dave Ramsey, and Ken Coleman) is GREAT if you are interested in leadership, communication, and business. And it is crazy to think that this conversation is free. This is Entreleadership Summit kind of stuff and is high value and high impact. Take some time to listen - it is filled with gold.

I sent this link to my brother Eric as a recommendation for listening. I don’t do this very often. This conversation is that good.

(Eric and I had the chance to hear all 4 of these men speak live in Colorado last May.)

One of my big takeaways: It is not my job to please the people I lead. It is my job to serve them. Sometimes these are aligned. Sometimes they are not. Pleasing comes easy. Doing the hard but right thing is sometimes giving an answer that my team member may not like in the short term but actually helps them in the long term.

Impact of AI on Who We Become

This reel is fascinating. AI is great, but robs us of the opportunity to grow through the process of doing, building, or writing.

Simon Sinek is the same guy who gave the “Start With Why” TED Talk. (I highly recommend it as well.)

Claude

Finally, I’ve been trying out Claude instead of ChatGPT. So far, I am preferring Claude. It is less of a cheerleader and more like talking to an actual person who'll push back when needed. The user interface is clean and intuitive. I have not found any downsides yet, only upsides compared to ChatGPT. Try it sometime and let me know what you think.

BE2.0

I am reading BE2.0 (Beyond Entrepreneurship 2.0) by Jim Collins and Bill Lazier right now. It is very thought provoking and definitely worthwhile. I will write more about it here once done with it.

That is a wrap for this week.

Any book suggestions or interesting conversations you think I would benefit from? Send me a quick note here.

Have a wonderful week, all.
